I'm sure it won't get that bad. But from where I'm sitting, I feel as though we are on the edge of a precarious cliff, and this could be what makes the Fight for Equality go either way.
An Author, Mark Probst has noticed sales rankings being stripped from LGBTQ books on Amazon.
This is going to be huge.

RE: RE: Oh this woman makes me steam!
Ok, so I lied. She cut the funding for the programs I work with. This source came from my supervisor.
Fucking Bitch.
Fucking Bitch.

Oh this woman makes me steam!
I work for a non-profit that deals with education, employment, and basically all the things she just decided to cut. A lot of our grant money could be affected by this. I'm kinda pissed right now.
So hopefully our legislature will do the right thing (accept the rest of it, bitch!) and then I can point and laugh at her for being dumb.
She said no to $160 MILLION for EDUCATION because "I don't want to create more government jobs"
Are you fucking kidding me?

The iPod Game
Teen tries to steal iPod at gun point. Then goes after another. Cause he wants one real bad, I guess.
Something similar but not quite as serious happened to me a few months, back. Actually, it was only a few weeks. But there was no gun. And it wasn't in Seattle. But he was 17. Does that count?

Girls Scouts; I never was one
But I buy their cookies every year, and this year was no exception. Though, if you ask a masked man in Juneau what he thinks could possible be better than Girl Scout cookies, he'll tell you: Their money.
I'm not impressed.

Welcome home to the slums
Did you have a nice trip seeing how the rest of the world lives?
Education is important. Its beyond important, and giving these children a reason to stay in school is wonderful. But if we're grossing millions and millions of dollars, and these kids, who led you to 9 Oscar awards, only recieve thousands at most, then what are we telling them? What are we telling the world about the worth of your origins?
This story makes me want to cry. They're happy to be home, and yet now they know. They really know what they are missing. And maybe they don't want it. But maybe when one's mom gets sick and dies because of lack of healthcare, or a building crumbles on top during an earth quake that kills millions of others, they might become angry because it'll take years to pick up those pieces. The potential resentment here is staggering.

So.... Sarah Palin Pays up, hmm?
I didn't really care in the first place. She has way too many children to just be leaving them home all the time.
But good for the ethics committee to earn their time. The economy is slumping, even here in Cold Alaska, and well, I like to see people hard at work, even if its over fairly ridiculous matters.

Global Warming: You suck.
If California can't grow my tomatos and apples and grapes and wine and cows and make cheese and bottle me water and feed me lettuce and oranges and whateverthefuckelse they grow there because they have no water because they have too many people and too many farms there because they're causing global warming, does that mean I'm going to have to get them from mexico now?
Or should, you know, all people capable of growing one food item, do it, share with your neighbors, go to co-ops and end this monopoly on food growing?
I don't know the answer.

Moderate to Bad News
Its not all ice in Alaska. Granted I'm walking on about 3 inches of ice and 2 inches of snow, but in some parts, we have vulcano's. And one is about to erupt.
Redoubt erupted about 20 years ago, and geologists are apparently very anxious that its going happen again, probably in a week.
Very very cool. How is this bad news? Its not, not really. Its moderate news. There is a very good chance that Anchorage will be affected some how, and if so, I won't be able to go outside and smoke. Which means I'll probably go insane.
Now to the bad news.
ACS, a Telecom company here in Alaska is feeling the recession as well. Its kind of ridiculous, and their service sucks and they should go away anyway, but that just means 20 more people are searching for jobs next week. Everyone thinks we have it made up here, our economy isn't feeling the hunger pains of the recession. I live with a group of people who can't find jobs, and I find people jobs for a living. Its quite disgusting.
