Sigh, Japan

My heart is aching for Japan. Please send them good vibes. Also, if you have family in the pacific rim, Hawaii, or along the west coast stretching from the coast of Alaska all the way to Chile, missing nothing in between, please call and ensure they're aware of the potential tsunami for the rest of the day.

As I live in Anchorage, Alaska, I'm pretty far away from Seward (150 miles), which under advisory as of this posting.

Everybody, please be safe.

Some say the Apocolypse is a'comin'...

... and others say its just evolution. I don't care either way. But its been a very busy weekend.
GOP Maine Senator behaves in a dumb fashion, out of touch with the realities of today by voting to strip pandemic monies from stimulus fund, Mexico becomes diseased with Swine Flu, which we can't protect ourselves from because of Maine, then has an earthquake, Ms. California still doesn't get the punchline, probably because she's trying to smell a scratch n' sniff at the bottom of a pool.

Good news though, Gays are lining up in Iowa to get married, because their state government doesn't suck as much as the rest of the country's (certain states excluded, of course).

It looks like rain outside, and that makes me sad. I hope I don't get sick.

Kids: They're mean

Lately there has been an influx of suicides, amongst teens for being bullied. We heard about two in the last month. Each were only 10, 12 years old.

Now, we have another one. Alas, not a human, but a moose.

Yes. A moose has committed suicide after being harassed badly by local students.

Bullying needs to stop. Seriously. There are no words.

War Rejected

Sarah Palin, being ridiculous as usual, stating that, "legislatures not representing their constituents" and seeming to go against her at every turn. How could they be so wrong?

Only Sarah knows what we want.

Inconvenient

We waited patiently for weeks for this thing to erupt and now it has, and only 3 days after its first explosion, ash is finally heading towards Anchorage.

Steven Colbert in Space!

Stephen asked his viewers to vote for his name being placed on a section of the NASA Space Station.

He won. Of course, NASA can still veto his name, the reserved that right, but still. What a way to motivate people.

Now if he could only use his powers for good.

Global Warming: You suck.

If California can't grow my tomatos and apples and grapes and wine and cows and make cheese and bottle me water and feed me lettuce and oranges and whateverthefuckelse they grow there because they have no water because they have too many people and too many farms there because they're causing global warming, does that mean I'm going to have to get them from mexico now?

Or should, you know, all people capable of growing one food item, do it, share with your neighbors, go to co-ops and end this monopoly on food growing?

I don't know the answer.

Moderate to Bad News

Its not all ice in Alaska. Granted I'm walking on about 3 inches of ice and 2 inches of snow, but in some parts, we have vulcano's. And one is about to erupt.

Redoubt erupted about 20 years ago, and geologists are apparently very anxious that its going happen again, probably in a week.

Very very cool. How is this bad news? Its not, not really. Its moderate news. There is a very good chance that Anchorage will be affected some how, and if so, I won't be able to go outside and smoke. Which means I'll probably go insane.

Now to the bad news.

ACS, a Telecom company here in Alaska is feeling the recession as well. Its kind of ridiculous, and their service sucks and they should go away anyway, but that just means 20 more people are searching for jobs next week. Everyone thinks we have it made up here, our economy isn't feeling the hunger pains of the recession. I live with a group of people who can't find jobs, and I find people jobs for a living. Its quite disgusting.

I'd be Obama's Baby's Momma

I'm so in love with this man. Everytime he opens his mouth my heart skips a beat.

He has succeeded in filling me with hope. To him I say:

Don't fuck it up.
